November-Transcendance

I've been transported to some space that is not of this earth. This has happened a few times in life, namely when I married Rich in the thick of strawberry season nearly ten years ago; there was also the experience I had when time stopped and Marion Rose tumbled into the world (then a few years later: Jack). Two stars collided this past weekend, my best friend and sister and her best friend and the man I've been calling brother for a couple of years now exchanged vows amid a swirl of late October leaves and the brightest sunshine I've seen this time of the year. All the earthly logistics of the event blurred into the background as the magic swept me up in a fog.
Absolute bliss permeated the cells in my body and seemed to lay thick over all of us who were there to support these two. Witnessing undeniably unconditional love, especially between such radiant souls, it was like a reawakening. Seeking, discovering, experiencing, cultivating, and disseminating love and compassion...this is the impetus of life. When our energy is poured into this effort and safeguarded from the folly of heading in the other direction, we flourish.
In spite of the strife and friction of our troubled world, brilliant love as evidenced this past weekend exists and it's not limited to two happy Ohioans...like a pulse...it's there even if it's weaker in some places than others.
As I descend from the clouds, I'll get back to the adventures of day-to-day life on the farm. And being human, I'm bound to falter and get caught up in the trivialities or worse, the adversities, which present themselves in life. But such a profound memory as the one of this weekend will be there to tap into, as a cue to come back to center...to remember what matters, and to live for it, free of the bonds of cynicism or despair.
I'm ready to coast into the slower and colder season enlivened by this greater-than-life vibration. November: a start to the holidays and buttoning up the farm, parent teacher conferences, wood stove evenings, and who knows, maybe even snow. Let's jump in.
What's happening?
-Online ordering continues with pick up in the Oakwood Lot at 22 Orchard Drive from 10-11:30 every Saturday. Can you believe we are still picking the last few rows of tomatoes for orders?!
-The Brightside Holiday Bazaar: We are so excited to be attending the holiday bazaar at the awesome Brightside Event Center downtown on Sunday, November 13th from 12-5pm. We will be selling a handful of fantastic gift options: floral jelly sets, granola trio baskets, 2023 csa memberships, and gift cards. We will also be bringing our mini pumpkin pies, breads, and produce to the affair. We will be one of MANY vendors that day and you can shop for your dears (or yourselves) for the Holidays :).
-Thanksgiving Preorders: I have created a page on our site where you can preorder our scratch baked Pumpkin or Dutch Apple Pies, Sourdough Bread, Cranberry Walnut Bread, and Fluffy Dinner Roll Packs for Thanksgiving. All the information you need is on our site, but most importantly, pick up is going to be Tuesday November 22nd from 4-6 pm in the Oakwood FM lot at 22 Orchard Drive.
